Hue is about 600 km from Ninh Binh. It is the longest route we drive regularly, and the trick is not to do it in one go.

The smart way: stop at Phong Nha
Driving 10 hours straight is possible but not the point of a private car. The route passes Phong Nha anyway, so break the trip there: one night, one cave day, and you arrive in Hue fresh. You see one of Vietnam”s highlights instead of sleeping past it in a bus.
